“Good posture can be successfully acquired only when the entire mechanism of the body is under perfect control” ~ Joseph Pilates

Joseph Hubertus Pilates (*1883 in Mönchengladbach; † in New York) was a German-American physical trainer and is the founder of the Pilates method. Pilates opened his first studio in New York as early as 1926 to provide a meaningful, personal body workout for people who had been impaired by injury or illness. He continuously refined his training program and adapted it to the latest medical and physiological findings.

Pilates is a holistic oriented body training, which works and effects from the depth of the core center – the “Powerhouse“. The strengthening of abdominal, pelvic floor and back muscles supports the spine, improves posture and shapes the figure.

At QiYoga there are two options to train the Pilates method: in the open group courses (mat training – Pilates Flow I-III) or in personal trainings on the Reformer / Mat. The gentle and non-invasive training method is particularly suitable for rehabilitation. Each Pilates session is based on the six principles: Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow. The resulting harmonious relaxation of body and soul increases general well-being at all levels.
